Here, the float and the feeder works perfectly so its hard to decide, which method I want to choose. In windy condition, I choose feeder, in calm weather, the float usually. The amount of fishes is really incredible here. There are plenty of carps over 15 pound swimming under the waves.

It is really hard to catch them, because they know all the rigs I think! I didn’t have so much luck on that day. The surface of the water was like a mirror, so flat, and the Sun was shining, it was so hot like any other day in the middle of the summer. As often in the past, I chose the method feeder for fishing on the very bottom of the lakes bed. I have limited time only, but I knew if I choose the right bait and groundbaits, I can catch some of the lake’s fishes. I am sure I am not the only angler, who has less time for fishing than he wants. So we have to be well prepared.

I used a groundbait dedicated for carp fishing, which contained two others, Tímár Mix Carp+ and Tímár Mix Feeder+. When we are fishing for carp, it is always good to use some practicles, in this case it was the Carp Expert Holiday. I like this mix, because it contains vary of different grains, and when we open the packet, we get the practicle in perfect condition, ready for use. Now just put the grains to our groundbait and thats it! I decided to fish using this mix only!

After mixing the groundbait, I put it away for 20 minutes and started to make the rig. I prepared three rods with different action to solve any upcoming situation. The most heavier rig was used with my ET Feeder Blade which is a true heavy feeder for catching big carps or use it in strong rivers. The reel was the Banax Iris in size 40, the line was 0.22 on the spool. I used a simple method feeder rig with a 50 grams method cage. The hooklenght was 0.18. The bait was put on the hairline. The other rod was one of the newest from Energofish, the Extreme Match-Feeder. I used it earlier, it is a fast 3.90 meter long line with very good spine. The mainline was 0.17, the hooklenght was 0.14 millimeters and I chose a 20 grams method feeder cage. For the worst case I brought one of my favorites, the ET Cometition Picker in my bag. I did not know that this rod will save me from the complete failure. The mainline here was 0.14, I used a casting line with a standard feeder cage in size 10 grams.

I started fishing with the pair of Feeder Blade - Extreme. I didn’t have any takes in the first one and a half hour. Nobody wanted to take my corn or pellets on the hook or on the hair rig. Fortunately I bought some maggots on the morning. I cut the hair rig from the extreme and put two maggots next to one grain of sweetcorn on the size 12 hook. Usually this sandwich is very attractive for all the species of fishes. The result was some smaller movement on the tip. I knew that there are some fishes stalking around my groundbait, just dont want to take my bait. I cant take. After some time, I started to use two simple maggots, but I still had too much empty strikes. My fishes eat extremely carefully.

At this point, I decided to use my picker. I put the rig prepared on a ladder, just changed the hook from size 16 to size 18. I used 40 centimeter long hooklenght, the bait was two maggots. Now I find the solution. I started catching small crucian carps one by one. At the end of my fishing session (at last but not least) I got a smaller carp as well with this light tackle. After taking a quick photo, I put all the fishes back to the lake. Their back was shining in the sunlight before the were getting covered by the waves.
